Five ZIMRA managers transferred from Beitbridge

The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority has transferred five senior managers from Beitbridge border post following a vehicle imports smuggling scandal that cost the parastatal millions of dollars, according to The Herald.

It said that those who were transferred are regional manager Christopher Zifudzi, Martin Muponda, Farai Makunike, Prenade Dzangare and Julius Toringepi.

ZIMRA boss Gershom Pasi was suspended together with five other top executives over the importation of cars two weeks ago.

The five executives were: Loss control director Mr Charlton Chihuri; Commissioner of Customs and Excise  Anna Mutombodzi; director of ICT and Infrastructural Development Tjiyapo Velempini; director internal audit Clive Charles Majengwa; and director human resources Sithokozile Thembani Mrewa.
