Movement for Democratic Change leader Morgan Tsvangirai says he is shocked by news in the media that he is critically ill.
He is not feeling too well but he is stable and the process is under control, he says in a message on his twitter handle.
But some of his supporters were not convinced and asked for proof that the message was really from him.
Associated Press reported this morning that the MDC-T leader is critically ill and his supporters should “brace for the worst”.
In response to the story, Tsvangirai tweeted: “I am shocked to read in the press that I am in a critical condition. Of course I have cancer and not feeling too well but I am stable and the process is under control. I have been frequently on twitter of late, I am recovering.”
Tamara Mutowa responded: “hazvinetse save, tipei kaVideo message tizvionere kuti muri mutano shuwq”.
Tafam said: “How do we know it's really you tweeting Mr President? We continue to pray for you and the God we serve is a mighty one, you will make it out and give a testimony to this. This battle is not your but the lord's battle thou said the lord.”
TaFAdZwa added: “chirungu hachisi chaMRT ichi, apa ndazviramba ini, i wish him well though.”
Tsvangirai’s health has been a cause of concern over the last few weeks with reports of bitter infighting among his lieutenants about who will succeed him.
This seems to have spread to his supporters with one tweeting in response to Tsvangirai’s message that he is stable: “Chamisa auraya musangano kuno”, to which someone responded: “Wena….Touch not our Divine President @nelsonchamisa”.
