Tafadzwa Mafuwu, a senior executive to the director of the Presidential Scholarship scheme, has been arrested for soliciting bribes from prospective students who wanted to study under the scheme which enables poor students who do well at A-level to study abroad.

According to The Herald Mafuwu teamed up with Paidamoyo Mwandiymbira, a receptionist at Masaisai Primary in Harare and Martha Chigama headmistress of Martin Luther King Junior School.

The three were exposed by some of the students who failed to secure scholarships.

It is not clear how much was involved but so far 11 students have come forward. The students paid between $500 and $1 500 to the trio who shared the money.
