Mugabe agrees elections next year

President Robert Mugabe has finally conceded that elections can be held early next year if they cannot be held this year, reports said today. “If we fail, then elections should be held during the first few months next year,” he said. Southern African leaders have demanded that all issues in the Global Political Agreement must be implemented before any elections. Apparently, this came from the Joint Monitoring and Implementation Committee that enforces implementation of the GPA.
