1 person from Bulawayo dies of coronavirus as Zimbabwe death toll rises to 229

One person from Bulawayo died of coronavirus today raising the death toll in the country to 229 and that for Bulawayo to 45.

The country had gone for a week without any coronavirus death.

Today it recorded 17 new cases and 16 recoveries resulting in the number of active cases remaining at 1 246. The breakdown of active cases is as follows:

  • Harare 1 119
  • Bulawayo 79
  • Manicaland 14
  • Mashonaland West 13
  • Midlands 7
  • Mashonaland East 6
  • Matebeleland North 5
  • Matebeleland South 2
  • Masvingo 1
  • Mashonaland Central 0

Zimbabwe has so far recorded 7 915 cases but 6 440 people have recovered.

Globally, there are now 35.9 million cases which include 1.05 million deaths, 27 million recoveries and 7.9 million active cases.
