Zimbabwe should go to SADC for elections funds

South Africa’s Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan today said that any request by Zimbabwe for assistance for finance for the forthcoming elections should be directed to the Southern African Development Community for it to determine how best this request should be addressed. Zimbabwe requested a loan for R920m from South Africa for the elections. Gordhan said discussions on a possible extension of a R500m credit line were ongoing.
