The Movement for Democratic Change is holding its congress this weekend and has been celebrating the appeal by party leader Nelson Chamisa against Judge Edith Mushore’s judgment in which she ruled that his leadership of the main opposition was unconstitutional.
Party supporters have also hailed another ruling in which Justice Mushore said the case by Maureen Tawengwa in which she filed an urgent application seeking an order to stop the MDC congress from going ahead was not urgent.
Victories indeed. But what will happen if Chamisa loses his appeal at the Supreme Court when the party has already held its congress?
