Two Zimbabweans die of coronavirus as active cases continue to rise

Two Zimbabweans, one from Bulawayo and another from Masvingo, died of coronavirus today as the number of active cases continued to rise and now stands at 418.

Bulawayo now has 66 deaths while Masvingo has only four. The national toll is 257.

There were 69 new cases pushing the total to 8 765 and only 28 recoveries. The total number of people that have recovered is 8 090.

Bulawayo has 109 of the active cases and Harare 71.

The number of cases across the globe now stands at 53.5 million and includes 1.31 million deaths, 14.8 million actives cases and 37.4 million recoveries.

The United States should surpass 11 million cases over the weekend while Mexico is likely to become the 11th country with more than one million cases.

Germany has overtaken South Africa to take the 13th place while Iran is closing in on South Africa and could soon overtake it.
