Two critics of President Robert Mugabe, Kudzai Mbudzi of the Zimbabwe People First and former Midlands provincial governor Cephas Msipa, have died.

Mbudzi died yesterday while Msipa died this morning, both at the same clinic in Harare.

Mbudzi was one of the Joice Mujuru’s strong pins in Masvingo together with Dzikamai Mavhaire and Claudius Makova but Makova seems to have lost favour with the people.cephas-msipa-1Msipa, a former Zimbabwe African People’s Union, executive has long been considered a voice of reason and was one of the two ZAPU members who remained in Prime Minister Robert Mugabe’s government when he expelled ZAPU members from his cabinet including party leader Joshua Nkomo in the early 1980s.

The other was John Nkomo who later rose to Vice-President.

Msipa has, however, been highly critical of Mugabe of late calling on him to step down to save his legacy.
