The top eight shareholders of Pfizer and Moderna, two of the biggest pharmaceutical companies that are manufacturing coronavirus vaccines, saw their wealth grow by US$10 within a week following the discovery of a new coronavirus variant, omicron.

According to Nick Dearden, director of Global Justice Now, the two companies are making US$1 000 every second.
