One more dies of coronavirus in Zimbabwe, 52 recover


On more person died of coronavirus in Matabeleland South yesterday raising the death toll to 20 while 52 others recovered, 49 of them from Bulawayo.

Thirty, 16 of them local, tested positive increasing the total to 1 064.

Three people from Matabeleland North recovered raising the total so far to 395.

There are now 649 active cases.

The government said it is tightening lockdown measures but at a local level to curb the spread of the disease.

Zimbabwe has recorded 473 cases and 13 deaths in the first two weeks of this month.
It had a total of 591 cases and seven deaths at the end of June.

There are now 13.5 million cases across the globe. These include 581 300 deaths, 7.9 million recoveries and 5 million active cases.
