MDC says it does not agree with Constitutional Court decision

Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai’s Movement for Democratic Change says it does not agree with the Constitutional Court’s decision to have elections on 31 July because it subordinated key constitutional provisions to a date instead of subordinating the date to key constitutional provisions.

In a statement, the party said its leadership will study the reasons of the judgement when they are made available before making a decision about the elections.

The Constitutional Court did not give the reasons for its decision at today’s ruling.

In another statement the party announced that it is launching its manifesto at Rudhaka Stadium in Marondera on Sunday.

It said its message for 2013 is: “Yes – Together we can complete the change”.
