Jonathan Moyo still a minister but moved to Higher Education

Tsholostho North Member of Parliament Jonathan Moyo, who has been subject of speculation for almost two weeks with reports that he had fallen out with President Robert Mugabe, has been moved from the Ministry of Information to that of Higher Education.

The private media was awash with reports that Moyo has been sacked from cabinet following his election as legislator for Tsholotsho North.

The reports claimed that Moyo had fallen out with Mugabe because he had contested the seat against the President’s wishes and had therefore been sacked.

Moyo did not comment on the subject only at one time saying on his twitter handle: “The virtue of positional journalism in Zim's media,  ain’t about not believing everything you read but about believing nothing you read!”

Moyo has been replaced by Prisca Mupfumira as Minister of Information.

In other key appointments in today’s cabinet reshuffle, Saviour Kasukuwere has been promoted to the powerful post of Local Government a portfolio that seemed to have become a permanent post for Ignatius Chombo.

Chombo is now Minister of Home Affairs with former incumbent Kembo Mohadi moving to National Security.

Nyasha Chikwinya has been appointed Minister of Women’s Affairs, a post that has been vacant since last year.
