Jonathan Moyo and the Tsholotsho debacle

Tsholotsho Member of Parliament Jonathan Moyo last week won the High Court case against Vice-President John Nkomo in which he was suing Nkomo for defaming him by claiming that he was planning “a smart coup” by organising a meeting at Dinyane in Tsholotsho in 2004. Moyo was awarded damages of US$5 000. He had initially claimed Z$2 billion which at the time would have translated to nearly US$70 000. Here is what we thought about the Tsholotsho meeting just a month after it took place.
