Zimbabwe’s first President Canaan Banana died and was buried with the nation still in self-denial. Throughout his eulogy, the media insisted Banana had been survived by his wife, yet Banana’s marriage had broken down several years back.
In fact, The Insider reported some years ago that Janet was on the run because some of the people who had been molested by Banana were after his only daughter who had been born at State House, more as a cover up for Banana’s sexual orientation which everyone, including Janet, wanted to keep under the lid.
Banana’s sexual orientation may have haunted other members of his family especially his sons because it was difficult to explain their behaviour. Someone was probably taunting them about their father’s nocturnal activities.
