Coronavirus ravages Bulawayo as new cases continue to rise

Bulawayo yesterday had 73 new coronavirus cases and 24 recoveries pushing the number of active cases in the city to 565.

Zimbabwe as a whole had 114 new cases and 28 recoveries. Although Zimbabwe has re-opened its borders for commercial and private traffic, all new cases were local transmissions.

It now has 10 243 cases and 8 671 recoveries.

The number of active cases rose to 1 295 with Matebeleland South accounting for 165, followed by Mashonaland West with 144, Harare 134 and the Midlands with 103.

The number of cases across the world is now at 64.8 million and includes 1.5 million deaths, 44.9 million recoveries and 18.4 million active cases.

Poland now has a million cases and joins another 12. Iran is following closely.
