The Walter Mzembi Wikileaks cables

Walter Mzembi considered himself one of the reformers in the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front. He came on with a lot of verve and believed that the party needed a new generation of younger leaders. He was even willing to work with the Movement for Democratic Change when the three key political parties signed the Global Political Agreement. But the enthusiasm now seems to be gone. Chamisa and Biti did not want GPA

Movement for Democratic Change hardliners secretary general Tendai Biti and spokesman Nelson Chamisa did not want the agreement between the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front and the MDC and were trying to scuttle the deal nearly a month after the signing of the Global Political Agreement.
