2 Zimbabweans die of coronavirus, new cases down


Two Zimbabweans died of coronavirus today down from five yesterday while new cases dropped from 48 to 13.

Thirty-two people recovered resulting in the number of active cases dropping to 938.

Zimbabwe has so far reported 36 484 cases, 34 043 recoveries and 1 503 deaths.

Active cases in Harare dropped to 463, those in Matebeleland North to 193, while Manicaland remained at 125 and Bulawayo rose to 42.

Zimbabwe is worried about a third wave and has warned citizens that it might bring back restrictive measures because of increasing complacency.

It recorded only 363 deaths and 13 867 cases from March to December last year.

There have been more than 22 600 new cases and 1 100 deaths so far this year.
