Unity parliament over

Parliament was today adjourned indefinitely after sitting for only an hour, something that Constitutional and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Eric Matinenga said he regretted because it had not passed some of the crucial laws to deal with the coming elections. The Southern African Development Community at its special meeting on 15 June directed Parliament to debate and pass amendments to the electoral law on 18 June, but the House never discussed the amendments hoping that the principals would clear the field. It will be dissolved on Saturday.
