Two die of coronavirus in Zimbabwe, 90 test positive

Two people, one from Harare and another from Bulawayo, died of the coronavirus today, bringing the total to 28.

The person from Harare was a patient who tested positive on 20 July while the one from Bulawayo was admitted today and tested positive.

Bulawayo now has 13 deaths while Harare has nine.

Ninety people tested positive today, 83 of them being local transmissions, pushing the cumulative number of cases to 2 124.

There are now 1 129 cases of local transmissions and 995 imported cases.

The number of those who have recovered remained stagnant at 510 while active cases rose to 1 586.

Globally the number of cases stands at 15.5 million and includes 633 300 deaths, 9.5 million recoveries and 5.5 million active cases.

South Africa now has more than 400 000 cases with over 6 000 deaths.
