President Robert Mugabe today swore in a number of new ministers and deputies and reshuffled some ministers with Obert Mpofu being removed from the Ministry of Transport to Macro-Economic Planning and Christopher Mushowe becoming Minister of Information leaving his previous portfolio of Youth to Patrick Zhuwao.
Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front chief whip Joram Gumbo was appointed Minister of Transport while Makhosini Hlongwane was appointed Minister without Portfolio.
Abednigo Ncube was appointed Minister Rural Development and Preservation of National Cultural Heritage while Simon Khaya Moyo was re-assigned to Minister of Policy Coordination and Promotion of Social economic Ventures in the President’s office.
Two ministers in the Vice-Presidents’ offices, Clifford Sibanda and Tabitha Kanengoni Malinga, were also sworn in.
- Annastasia Ndhlovu was appointed Deputy Minister of Tourism;
- Bertha Chikwama Deputy Minister of Lands and Resettlement;
- Edgar Mbwembwe Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs;
- Tapiwa Matangaidze Deputy Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare;
- Tshinga Dube Deputy Minister of War Veterans, War Collaborators and Detainees;
- Christopher Chingosho Deputy Minister Local Government, Public and National Housing;
- Michael Madanha Deputy Minister Transport and Infrastructure Development;
- Aldrin Musiiwa Deputy Minister of Health and Child Care;
- Thokzile Mathuthu Deputy Minister Media, Information and Broadcasting Services, and
- Monica Mutsvangwa was reassigned to Deputy Minister Macro-Economic Planning.
