Amnesty fears new executions in Zimbabwe

Amnesty International today said it feared that Zimbabwe might resume executions after it hired a hangman following a seven-year search. There are 76 prisoners on death row in Zimbabwe. The country’s draft constitution retained the death penalty but exempts women and offenders younger than 17 and older than 70 from execution.
