Mugabe Wikileaks now at 500 with 200 more to go

0

President Robert Mugabe has been at the helm of the country since February 1980. During the first decade he was revered and honoured as one of Africa’s foremost leaders. His star started fading during the second decade. In the third decade he became one of the most hated leaders in the world, sometimes only second to Saddam Hussein. But he has survived it all and is into his fourth decade as leader. Our initial search showed that there are 756 cables on him. Here are the first 503.

This is our 17th month of continuously publishing Wikileaks cables. It is now sounding boring. It is tedious. You might ask, why are so interested in old news. Simple. History has a way of repeating itself. When you read the cables, you might think some of them were written yesterday.

Mugabe’s Wikileaks are the last big batch. So we are now moving one step further. To make it easier for our readers we are introducing ebooks on selected book-length Wikileaks. We are kicking off with the Save Conservancy Wikileaks. This should be out in the next two weeks.

We have classified the cables according to individuals. To read cables on each individual, please use our index:

The Insider is a political and business bulletin about Zimbabwe, edited by Charles Rukuni. Founded in 1990, it was a printed 12-page subscription only newsletter until 2003 when Zimbabwe's hyper-inflation made it impossible to continue printing.
