Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa made his first public appearance after almost two weeks yesterday when he paid his condolences to Maud Muzenda and George Rutanhire who died  within three days of each other and will be buried at Heroes’ Acre today.

Mnangagwa who fell sick at the party youth rally in Gwanda amid allegations of poisoning said he could not attend the funeral of colleague Shuvai Mahofa because he had not fully recovered.

Mahofa was buried a day after his return from hospital in South Africa.

He said August was a dark month for Zimbabwe as three heroes had died within a 10-day period.

“I will not talk about my personal issues, but we lost Cde Mahofa, Cde Rutanhire and Amai Muzenda. When God’s time has come, it would have come. There is no debate or feasibility study,” he said.
