Manicaland records second consecutive coronavirus death as Zimbabwe death toll rises to 306

Manicaland today recorded one coronavirus death, the second in two days, raising the number of deaths in the province to 29 and those for the nation to 306.

There were 81 new cases, 72 of them in Bulawayo, and 64 recoveries.

The total number of cases rose to 11 162 and that of recoveries to 9 324.

Active cases increased to 1 532 with 586 in Bulawayo, 213 in Harare and 201 in Matebeleland South.

There were 34 deaths in November and 29 people have died so far this month.

Globally the number of cases has risen to 71.2 million.

There have been 1.6 million deaths with the United States accounting for more than 301 000.

The number of active cases has risen to 20.2 million people and 49.4 million people have recovered.
