Magistrate’s strike cripples justice system

A strike by magistrates protesting low pay entered its second day today paralysing an already creaky justice delivery system. Judges continue to work at the High and Supreme Courts, but the majority of cases are heard at the lower magisterial courts. The IMF has warned the government about its high wage bill saying ordinary Zimbabweans are not benefitting from the current economic growth because of the focus on the government wage bill.
