Zimbabwe coronavirus death toll rises to 268 as three more die

Three people -two from Bulawayo and one from Masvingo- died of coronavirus today raising the death toll to 268.

The death toll for Bulawayo now stands at 74 and that for Masvingo is six.

There were 48 new cases today bringing the cumulative total to 9 220 but 15 people recovered raising the number of active cases to 702.

So far a total of 8 250 people have recovered.

The number of active cases in Bulawayo dropped to 209 after the city recorded 11 new cases but 15 people recovered and two died.

The number of cases in Matebeleland North, however, rose to 192 after the province recorded 28 new cases today.

The number of cases globally has risen to 58.8 million. It includes 1.39 million deaths, 40.7 million recoveries and 16.6 million active cases.

The United States and France account for 6.8 million active cases.
