Who is who among those removed from US-Zimbabwe sanctions list this week

sanctions on zimbabwe and obama

Several Zimbabwean individuals and companies, some of whom are now dead, were removed from the United States sanctions list on Tuesday.

According to the list some of those removed were Information Secretary George Charamba’s wife, Home Affairs Minister Ignatius Chombo’s wife, former Midlands governor, Cephas Msipa, Defence Force Chief Constantine Chiwenga’s former wife and several companies.

The United States imposed sanctions on Zimbabwe in 2003 allegedly because of gross human rights violations and has maintained those sanctions which some argue have given President Robert Mugabe’s administration an excuse for mismanaging the country.
