Mnangagwa rubbishes Chimene taunt says that’s what gives him strength

mnangagwaVice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa has rubbished a call by Manicaland Provincial Affairs Minister Mandi Chimene that President Robert Mugabe must fire him because he leads a faction called Lacoste saying such unfounded allegations are what gives him strength to carry on.

And he made the remarks in Mugabe’s home area, Zvimba.

“Izvozvo ndizvo zvinondipa simba. Kana zvikashaikwa ndinotoshaya simba rekushanda,” he told the media which had asked him why he was carrying on as if nothing had happened.

“Ko ichokwadi here? Ko ndidzo politics ka dzaunenge uchingonenegwavo asi iwe uchingoinda . Uchingoinda chete vanovukura vachipa simba. Akange asisipo panenge pasisina simba,” he said.

Mnangagwa has previously likened his detractors to dogs barking at an elephant.

“Kwedu kuMidlands kune nzou,” he told the people of Masvingo. “Kana nzou ichipfuura napamba pavaHungwe, tumbwa twava Hungwe tunohukura, tugohukura, tugohukura, nzou ichingofamba zvayo. Didymus (Mutasa who was castigating Mnangagwa following his expulsion from the party) achahukura, agohukura, ZANU ichingoinda mberi.”
