There is confusion about whether the congress of the Thokozani Khupe faction of the Movement for Democratic Change is on or not with one of her key lieutenants Obert Gutu saying it is on while an online publication says Gutu announced last night that the congress has been postponed to 2 June.
Gutu has been posting a series of pictures on his twitter handle saying “It's still very early in the morning but the venue is filling up rapidly. We're on a roll !!”
But an online publication said Gutu announced last night that the congress had been postponed because of the Constitutional Court ruling that the case about Khupe’s expulsion will be heard on 30 May.
Khupe is challenging her expulsion from Parliament on the basis that she should be the legitimate leader of the MDC-T following the death of founding father Morgan Tsvangirai.
Judgment in another MDC-T case that over the use of the name is scheduled for Tuesday.
