John Makumbe Wikileaks dossier

John Makumbe has been one of the most outstanding critics of President Robert Mugabe and his Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front since the departure of Jonathan Moyo from the University of Zimbabwe. He has also been closely allied to the Movement for Democratic Change. But our initial search indicated that there were only 17 Wikileaks cables that mentioned his name. Here are all the cables:

17-Mugabe, Tsvangirai reward loyalty for cabinet picks

16-Makumbe says Mugabe fears successor will consolidate power at his expense

15-Fees rise from one cow to six per semester

14-US official says Jonathan Moyo is a political chameleon

13-Demonstrators arrested ahead of planned march

12-Police punch and arrest Makumbe and US embassy official

11-Makumbe says MDC has to keep the fire burning

10-Mnangagwa says MDC is responsible for violence

9-Makumbe urges MDC to open offshore accounts

8-Makumbe says even an idiot would be better than Mugabe

7-Makumbe says Mugabe is playing the “race card”

6-Makumbe advises World Bank on civil service audit

5-Makumbe says GPA is a bad deal, a very bad deal

4-Journalist among activists sponsored by US to shed light on Mugabe’s mess

3-More aid promised if US passes Democracy Development Act

2-Wikileaks says Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition is funded by US

1-US spending $100 000 a year on anti-corruption in Zimbabwe?
