Former Zimbabwe Speaker of Parliament Lovemore Moyo, who was also the Movement for Democratic Change-Tsvangirai national chairman until only a few weeks ago, has formed his own political party- the United Movement for Devolution.

Moyo who broke ranks over the succession of Morgan Tsvangirai, who died in February, had indicated that he was quitting politics and resigned from the MDC-T just before his colleagues Thokozani Khupe, Abednigo Bhebhe and Obert Gutu were expelled.

There were 112 registered political parties in Zimbabwe at the last count.

Moyo told the Sunday News that his party will initially anchor itself in the Matebeleland provinces of Matebeleland North and South and Bulawayo and valued the devolution of power.

He said the party will support any of its members that contests the coming elections.
