Bizarre as it sounds a former Zimbabwe People’s Revolutionary Army fighter argued that it was Britain and not South Africa that was behind the Gukurahundi massacres in which thousands of innocent civilians in Matebeleland and Midlands were massacred. Incidentally he too was detained for two years. Though the story was initially published five years ago, no one has publicly challenged his theory.
