Manicaland Provincial Affairs Minister Mandi Chimene will have to sweat it for some time before she knows whether she can oust war veterans leader Christopher Mutsvangwa and his executive or not.
Chimene is trying to force the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association to hold elections following the expulsion of Mutsvangwa from the ruling Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front and the subsequent arrest of four members f his executive.

War veterans are now split into three major groups. Those loyal to former vice-President Joice Mujuru, those who support First Lady Grace Mugabe led by Chimene and those still rallying behind the main association led by Mutsvangwa.
