15 African countries holding elections this year

Fifteen African countries, including five from Southern Africa, will be holding elections this year.

South Africa and Madagascar will be holding their elections in May, Mozambique and Botswana in October and Namibia in November.

More than 300 million people will take part in the elections across the continent.

Below is the list of countries holding elections and when they are expected to hold them:
