The Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front’s 10 provinces now all want national political commissar Saviour Kasukuwere out.
In a last ditch attempt to save himself, Kasukuwere on Thursday professed total loyalty to President Robert Mugabe and described meetings to kick him out as unprocedural especially after the call by Mugabe to leave the matter to the politburo.
Kasukuwere also said he was suing those calling for his ouster and accused some of having worked for the Rhodesian Security apparatus.
This is believed to have been targeted at Philip Chiyangwa who according to today’s Herald accused Kasukuwere of demanding a $5million bribe from him to get back his property that had been taken over by the state.
Kasukuwere’s statement did not stop Manicaland, and the two Matebeleland provinces from going ahead to demand his sacking for allegedly setting up parallel structures and trying to oust Mugabe.
