Zimbabwe releases list of approved labs for COVID-19 testing

Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Health has released the list of authorised and certified laboratories for coronavirus testing following concerns that there are some laboratories that are carrying out COVID-19 testing without prior requirement of assessment and certification.

It said laboratories that have been assessed and certified by the Ministry of Health and Child Care in collaboration with the Medical Laboratory and Clinical Scientists Council of Zimbabwe and the World Health Organization are the only laboratories approved to carry out Covid-19 testing and publish results.

Police have so far only arrested two people in connection with fake covid-19 certififcates.

Results from any unauthorised laboratory shall be regarded as invalid and of no use.

  10. Bioexpress Laboartory
  11. Genau Laboratory
  12. Patholgy Laboratory
  13. Unki Mine Laboratory
