Zimbabwe records 16 new coronavirus cases but 4 provinces have less than 10 cases each

Zimbabwe yesterday recorded 16 new coronavirus cases pushing the total to 7 803 but four provinces have less than 10 cases each.

Ten people recovered pushing the tally to 6 067 and there were no deaths.

The country now has 1 509 active cases.

Mashonaland Central has only three cases, Mashonaland East the same, Masvingo one case and Matebeleland North four.

Only three provinces have more than 100 cases.

Harare has the highest at 1 122, followed by Matebeleland South with 183 and Bulawayo 107.

Globally the number of cases has risen to 33.1 million with deaths likely to clock one million by the end of day today. There are now 998 700 deaths.

Some 24.4 million people have recovered but there are still 7.6 million active cases.

India could surpass six million cases today but it will still have one million fewer cases than the United States which has over seven million.
