The six, who were chosen from 14 applicants, are:

  1. Jester Media (Private) Limited which will be operating as 3K TV,

BAZ board chairman Charles Manzi Sibanda said the successful applicants were expected to start broadcasting within 18 months.

“In the event of failure to broadcast, the licenses would be availed to other aspirants through a similar process,” he said.

The licensing of the new television stations is part of media reforms being pursued by the government.

Those that failed to get licences were:

  1. AB Communications
  2. Black Berry Zimbabwe
  3. Conduit Investments
  4. Continental TV
