Zimbabwe duped by “UK investor”-workers say

  1. Abuse Of Executive Names And Offices

Does Nicholas Havercroft have the right to refer to the president’s office or that of the lands Minister to make threats of arrests or “getting people into trouble” Nicholas Havercroft and his team claim direct access to these offices and each time he gets to know a new thing about this big empire and feels it had not been disclosed to him he threatens workers and management for non-cooperation that information is being hidden. This seeks to put the nation’s highest offices names into disrepute and casts aspersion that these offices are corrupt or compromised yet we know the truth. We understand it is a criminal offence to impersonate and attribute certain positions to these offices. On Friday 1 November 2019 all branches were guarded by individuals masquerading as state security agents to prevent retirees and former employees from engaging Nicholas Havercroft and his management.

Nicholas Havercroft appears to be a fraud and if he is not stopped early enough, time will expose him. He appears so desperate to identify income-generating assets (land and buildings) leading workers to suspect that he duped the authorities. He did not do a professional due diligence and misled himself that he could revive the company without pumping in a cent. He negotiated and won this Concession, which is bigger than he imaged and he will not be in a position to deliver to the satisfaction of government and the nation.

His behavior is that of panic as evidenced by his numerous visits to your/minister’s office according to his regular boasts. As we write all centres are under lock out and even visitors are not allowed inside. The Ministry of Land veterinary workers have been ordered to move out all premises at short notice. It’s like a war at CSC premises with strange guards and strangers placed all over.

  1. Company Governance

Boustead Beef refused to engage workers a cost of living adjustment with the lowest paid getting $170 ZWL and highest $800 ZWL, arguing that CSC employees are not Boustead Beef employees. However, the same Boustead Beef has cut management allowances, terminated contracts and sent the same employees on forced leave?

The HR executive one Hellen Sibanda (a former labour officer) had the audacity to tell the Labour Court that CSC has no managers and no Workers’ Committees. She uses the same threats of access to the President’s office to postpone labour hearings.
