ZCTU slams government over NRZ mess

Moyo slammed Transport Minister, Joram Gumbo and Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko for failing to take action after unions approached them over the NRZ crisis.

“Trade unions in the railways have previously engaged the Minister of Transport Joram Gumbo and Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko over the outstanding salaries but the two have proved to be clueless on how the issue could be solved,” he noted.

Heads of the country’s parastatals, estimated at about 105, are among some of the highest paid individuals, with some earnings as much as $500,000 a month at one time, according to a 2013 Cabinet report.
