Remember Archbishop Pius Ncube!

Roman Catholic Archbishop Pius Ncube was probably the most prominent catholic bishop in Zimbabwe at the turn of the century.

He was one of the fiercest critics of President Robert Mugabe and his administration, especially on Gukurahundi and human rights abuses.

But in one fell swoop, he was reduced to a non-entity and was forced to resign as head of the church in Bulawayo on 11 September 2007.

Ncube, a catholic priest sworn to celibacy, was caught in the act with a woman, and that was his end.

It was a sting by the Mugabe administration, unethical perhaps, but it silenced him for good.

Who is next?
