New coronavirus cases in Zimbabwe drop to 322 but 30 people die, 640 recover

The number of new coronavirus cases in Zimbabwe dropped to 322 today but 30 people died and 640 recovered resulting in the number of active cases dropping to less than 10 000.

350 people have died of coronavirus this month and there have been 13 336 new cases.

The cumulative number of deaths is now 713, that of cases 27 203, but 16 512 people have recovered leaving 9 978 active cases.

Harare had the highest number of recoveries and deaths today with 14 people dying and 301 recovering. It now has 4 363 active cases.

Manicaland has 1 196 active cases. Some 81 people recovered today.

Mashonaland East has 1 095 active cases and Bulawayo 660.

The recovery rate improved slightly from 59% to 60.7%.

Globally the number of cases has risen to 95.3 million. Some 2.04 million people have died, 68 million have recovered but there are still 25.3 million active cases.

South Africa has so far recorded 1.34 million cases, 37 105 deaths and has 202 380 active cases.
