MDC-T says Grace Mugabe is a complete disgrace but…….

The Movement for Democratic Change has described Zimbabwe’s First Lady Grace Mugabe as a disgrace following reports that she assaulted a 20-year-old South African woman whom she found with her two sons at a hotel in the posh suburb of Sandton in Johannesburg South Africa on Sunday.

“It is a total disgrace and a complete national embarrassment for a whole First Lady to conduct herself in such a thuggish, uncouth and barbaric manner,” MDC-T spokesman Obert Gutu said in a statement.

Grace Mugabe was yesterday morning reported to have handed herself over the South African police and was expected to appear in court in the afternoon but she did not show up at the Randburg Magistrates’ Court where several journalists were waiting for her.

The journalists were shocked to learn that Grace Mugabe was already back in Zimbabwe.

International news agency Reuters quoted an unnamed senior Zimbabwe government official as saying: "Yes, she is back in the country. We don't know where this issue of assault charges is coming from.”

Unaware that the First Lady was already back in the country, Gutu said: “We are pleased to note that Grace Mugabe will face the full wrath of the law in the courts in South Africa.

“Grace Mugabe is notorious for her explosive and discourteous temperament, particularly when she is dealing with people who she perceives to be powerless and under her authority.

“She has a penchant for abrasive and thuggish behaviour that is completely inconsistent with the decorum and decency expected of a First Lady.

“On more occasions than one, Grace Mugabe has conducted herself like a bull in a china shop.

“She has to be brought to order and indeed, she has to appreciate that she is not a law unto herself.”
