He said Zimbabwe is not facing an economic problem but a political problem caused by the theft of the 2018 presidential election from Nelson Chamisa.
“2019 will be the year to reclaim our stolen Presidential vote @nelsonchamisa. History will not forgive us from the sin of omission if we fail to make the people’s vote count. @edmnangagwa must do the right thing and surrender the Presidency to the real winner,” he tweeted.
The MDC has refused to recognise Mnangagwa who was declared winner of the 30 July elections, a victory that was upheld by the Constitutional Court on 24 August.
“Zimbabwe does not have an economic problem but a political problem caused by the theft of the 2018 Presidential Election from @nelsonchamisa . Unless this is resolved and a legitimate President is allowed to run the country we will continue suffering,” Hwende said.
Chamisa meanwhile visited Mbare-Musika “to experience how the majority of Zimbabweans are coping under the current hardships”.
He said he also assessed the fuel queues.
“I’m really broken by the sufferings people are going through! I wish I could say merry Christmas,” he tweeted.
The MDC leader said he was overwhelmed by the reception and support from those travelling to their homes.
“What a massive reception at Mbare Musika!!I am humbled by the overwhelming support from those traveling to various rural homes. I took time to appreciate their pains and agonies. I spent time with passengers aboard the Rural-bound buses. Zimbabweans you are so warm and loving!” he said.
