South African President Jacob Zuma who is the chief mediator in Zimbabwe has vowed to tighten the screws on President Robert Mugabe who he says should stick to the Global Political Agreement and stop his crackdown on the opposition. “There has to be an amendment to the constitution, and a referendum must be held before any election can be held. That has to be done as part of the Global Political Agreement. The violence and intimidation must also be stopped,” a South African government spokesman said today.
