ZUD and sex

The split within the Zimbabwe Union of Democrats which saw one of the founders, law lecturer, Kempton Makamure, leave the party to form another named ZUD Transparency Fund had nothing to do with differences in ideology.

It was due to a potential sexual scandal, or so The Insider understands.

Whispers say Makamure and another member were apparently involved in a sexual misdemeanour with one of the victims being party leader Margaret Dongo’s secretary.

The whispers say when Makamure and his colleague were called for a disciplinary hearing as their behaviour was unacceptable in a party led by a woman with other outspoken women’s rights activists such as Priscilla Misihairambwi-Mushonga in its leadership, Makamure and colleague decided it was time to quit.
