ZimPF circus continues as Mutasa and Gumbo sue Mujuru for $5 million

Zimbabwe People First, which was thrown into turmoil last week when party leader Joice Mujuru fired seven of her top lieutenants including founding elders Didymus Mutasa and Rugare Gumbo who in turn expelled her from the party, has been thrown into another quagmire with Mutasa and Gumbo suing Mujuru for $5 million for tarnishing their names.

Mutasa and Gumbo are suing Mujuru over her remarks that they wanted to turn her into a sex slave.

Their lawyer, Gerald Mlotshwa, says they had no desire whatsoever to mate with Mujuru and her statement was malicious.

Mlotshwa also asked Newsday, which published Mujuru’s remarks, to retract them by end of business tomorrow or it would be sued in the High Court too.

The ZimPF saga has provided fodder for the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front with First Lady Grace Mugabe telling Mujuru that she should not be proud of calling herself Queen Bee as this was a disgrace to women.

President Robert Mugabe said the turmoil in ZimPF could be the end of the party as Mujuru might be forced to join Movement for Democratic Change leader Morgan Tsvangirai as his deputy because she no longer has any people.

Mugabe also brushed off the proposed opposition alliance ahead of the 2018 elections saying that if you add 10 zeros you still get a zero.
