Zimbabwean woman arrested with explosives- says she wanted to sell them to illegal miners in Gauteng

A Zimbabwean woman was arrested at the Beitbridge border post in South Africa today after she was found with 54 packs of mining explosives, 150 detonators, and nine detonator cords valued at over R320 000.  South African Revenue Services spokesman Marika Muller was quoted by News24 as saying that the woman initially claimed that she was carrying groundnuts. But a search of her bag found a black plastic bag concealed in the groundnuts.  The bag was found to contain mining explosives. When questioned, the woman attempted to flee but was caught. She said she sold the explosives to illegal miners in Gauteng.
