Zimbabwe schools to close on 26 July for elections

Zimbabwe schools which were originally scheduled to close on 9 August will now close on 26 July to allow for elections on 30 July.

They will also open a week earlier than previously scheduled.

According to the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education schools will re-open on 4 September instead of the previously scheduled 11 September.

According to the election roadmap released by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission, the new President will be announced by 4 August.

If there is no outright winner, a re-run will be held on 8 September, a Saturday.
